Scams to Avoid: "Agents" in Facebook Groups and Telegram Channels

Fake agents are patient. The conversation that ends with your money in someone else's e-wallet usually starts with a friendly reply in a fishing or slots group. JLPUB is an independent guide, not a casino. We take no deposits, run no games, have no agents and no chat accounts on any platform. This page follows a typical fake-agent conversation from first message to last, marks the red flag at each stage, then covers other scams, real KYC, and reporting. 21+.

Stage by stage: how the conversation runs

StageWhat the agent saysThe red flag
1. ContactReplies to your comment or sends a direct message: "I can help you with that game"You did not ask them; they found you
2. CredibilityShares cash-out screenshots, a group full of thanks, maybe an ID or permit photoAll of it is images, and images are free to fake
3. The offerA bigger bonus, a discounted top-up, a ready-made account with balance, a faster payout laneBetter than the operator's own offer, available only in chat
4. The channel shift"Message me on Telegram, Facebook blocks us"Moving somewhere with less moderation and deletable messages
5. The payment"Send to this number, I will load your account"A personal wallet, not the site's cashier
6. The hookA small first top-up may really be creditedTrust is being bought for a larger amount
7. The exitA larger payment goes unanswered, or a "release fee" appearsThe account is deleted or you are blocked

Stage six surprises people. A scammer who honours a ₱200 top-up to receive a ₱5,000 one has made a good trade.

Why the offer is impossible

  • Bonuses are calculated and credited by the operator's system on deposits made through its cashier. Nobody outside can attach one.
  • Withdrawal queues are handled by the operator's finance team under its terms. No outsider has a fast lane.
  • Accounts are tied to one verified person. A pre-loaded account sold by someone else can be closed and its balance withheld under the operator's terms.
  • A discount top-up means someone is selling pesos for fewer pesos. Ask why.

Claims, and what to do

The claimWhy it is falseWhat to do
"I am the master agent for this site"Titles are self-awarded; real partner programmes send players to the operator's own cashierAsk the operator's support, via its site, if in doubt
"Top up through me for 20% extra"No third party can add to a balance beyond what the system creditsDeposit in the cashier or not at all
"Buy this account, it already has a balance"The account belongs to whoever passed KYC; you cannot withdraw from itDo not buy accounts
"Lend me your account to clear my bonus"You become responsible for whatever is done with itRefuse
"Join my group for daily free credits"Groups exist to funnel members into paid offersStay out of the direct messages
"I work with the site's admin"Unverifiable, and irrelevant if payment bypasses the cashierIgnore

Checks that take one minute

  1. Is the payment going to the site's cashier, inside my logged-in account? If no, stop.
  2. Is the offer listed on the operator's own promotions page? If no, it does not exist.
  3. Has this person asked for a password, OTP or wallet PIN? If yes, stop.
  4. Am I being hurried? If yes, wait a day.

Other scams in the same groups

The same channels carry cloned site links one character away from the real address, "predictor" apps that claim to read slot or fishing outcomes, fixed-match tips, and fake support accounts that answer complaint posts. Recovery agents, who promise to retrieve lost money for a fee, appear after any of them.

What a real KYC request never asks for

Agents sometimes ask for an ID photo and a selfie "to register you". Hand those to a stranger and they can be used to open accounts in your name. Real verification is done by you, inside your own account, through the operator's upload form.

  • It never asks for a password, OTP, wallet MPIN or card security code.
  • It never costs money.
  • It never goes through a personal chat, a page inbox or a personal email.
  • It never needs screen-sharing or a remote-access app.
  • It never asks you to hold up a note addressed to an individual.

If you paid an agent

  1. Stop all further payments, including any fee to "release" the first.
  2. Capture the profile, the chat, the wallet number and your receipts before they vanish.
  3. Report the transaction in your e-wallet app.
  4. Change passwords and PINs if you shared any details or documents.
  5. Report the profile and group to the platform.

Reporting route

Step one is the operator's own support, contacted from its website, so it knows its name is being used. Step two is your e-wallet's in-app helpline; find it inside the app and disregard any number passed to you in a chat. Step three is PAGCOR's published complaint channel on its official website, where a licensed operator is involved or impersonated. Step four is the cybercrime route: the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group and the NBI Cybercrime Division. We print no numbers; use the current ones on each organisation's own site.

Frequently Asked Questions

The agent credited my first small top-up. Does that make them legitimate?

No. Honouring a small amount is a common way to set up a larger payment that is never credited.

Is buying a casino account with a balance safe?

No. Accounts are tied to the verified owner. The operator can close a transferred account, and the seller can reclaim it.

Does JLPUB run a Facebook group or Telegram channel?

No. JLPUB is an independent guide with no agents, groups or channels and no means of taking payment.

How do legitimate affiliates differ from fake agents?

A legitimate affiliate links you to the operator's site, where you register and pay through the cashier yourself. They never handle your money.

I sent my ID and selfie to an agent. What should I do?

Watch for wallet accounts or loans opened in your name, keep the chat as evidence, and report the incident to the cybercrime units.

Can I get a refund from my e-wallet?

Authorised transfers are generally final. Report at once in the app; quick reports give the best chance of the receiving account being restricted.
